Nature itself is the ultimate
"Functional Art"

”Trees are poems that the earth writes upon the sky.”
Kahil Gebran

Silverwood Cat Trees uses the timeless beauty of nature’s palette to
hand-craft pieces that seek to please the souls of both people and pets.

Meticulously hand-crafted

Each Silverwood Cat Tree begins with a selection of fallen timber and a design concept.  Intended to entertain a felines favorite pastime, each tree is also designed and crafted to be a compliment to the décor of any home.

Built by hand, each tree is designed specifically to maximize stability and durability while also providing luxurious and unique amenities for felines to play, survey and slumber.

Every Silverwood Cat Tree is also created to be a unique work of functional art.  Because each tree begins with natural fallen timber, every piece is one-of-a-kind and bears an engraved plate with the name of the piece and the date it was created.

About the Artist

“My work in designing and building these cat trees is by far the single most gratifying career of my life. It allows me to bask in my love of nature, art and animals while also utilizing the skills and knowledge I have gained across the expanse of my careers. “

Canadian artist, Liz Kyle was born and raised on the west coast of British Columbia. Growing up nestled between the grandeur of the Pacific Ocean and the towering coastal forests, Liz has always held a deep love for the natural beauty of nature and has always sought to blend what she sees as the commonality of all of natures creations into her artwork.

Liz’s formal career in art began in 1992 while on a hiatus from her 15+ year career as an aerospace manufacturing and maintenance engineer.  Having dabbled in sculpture as a pastime over the years, her work was noticed by an art gallery in Anacortes, Washington where she was invited to perform her first portrait sculpting demonstrations.

Over the following years, Liz continued to create both original and commission sculptures in both clay and bronze and appeared at various galleries and art walks in Washington State as well as British Columbia and Alberta, Canada.

Though still sculpting occasionally, Liz next embarked on  a multi-decade career in residential design and construction where she sought to blend her love of nature and natural materials into human “habitats”.

It is Liz’s combined expertise in fine art sculpture, construction and the precision of aerospace that forms the foundation of every Silverwood Cat Tree.
